Installed FRPP Borlas Stingers today
Hi all,
I just finished the install of my FRPP/Borla stingers (ford part ending in GT, the loud ones). Man the car sounds awesome. Took about 15-20 minutes to get the old mufflers off...and about 15 minutes to put the new ones on (installing new ones was much easier...more room). I think I spent about 30-40 minutes to get them aligned evenly. I didn't even use a lift or ramps. I did all the work without raising the car at all. Overall, one of the easiest mods I've ever done to a car. The sound of these things is awesome. Nice exhaust sound (deep and rumbly) at idle...pretty quiet cruising...and roar at WOT. They have a bit of drone...but not as bad as I expected from the posts on here. I remember my old 86 GT with dynomax mufflers had more drone that this car. I'm going to go drive now.

Hoping to install Stingers within next few weeks. The fit was ok???

Yeah the fit was very close to perfect the first try. The FRPPs line up very well on the stock 'mid pipe'. They even have little notches where a 'bump' on the mid pipe fites...this indexes the muffler and essentially lines it up pretty well. I found it easier to remove the rubber bracket hangers with the old mufflers and then slip them on the hangers on the new mufflers before I put the new mufflers under the car. I think the move saved some time. I didn't have to bend any hangers or make many adjustments. The only adjustments I made was in the 'play' of the hanger brackets before tightening down the mounting screws (this was enough travel). Now that I know how to do this install, I bet I could do it in about 15 minutes.
