Just picked up an '06 Explorer with the 3V motor that the factory rates at 292hp and 300 torque. This will be my tow pig for the '05 to go back and forth to the track but I figure since it has essentially the same motor that is in our cars then shouldnt the basic bolt on mods wake it up just like in the mustangs. Does anyone know if an intake and tune would have the same affect on it? I have searched high and low for any aftermarket parts and apparently the aftermarket doesnt have alot of interest in the new explorers but it seems like the potential is there. I know tuners are still figuring out the 5 spd auto let alone the 6spd auto that ford stuck in this thing. Bottom line-does anyone know if this motor would respond the same as our cars or am I crazy for thinking this.
