Install of FRPP Headers?
Install of FRPP Headers?
What's the opinion on the difficulty of installing headers in these new Mustangs? Any easier than on the SN-95's? It seems there is a little more room now.
I know FRPP shorty headers aren't going to free up much HP, but I had them on my '96 and I think they did a little good. And the ceramic coating made them look better than the stockers.

Installing shorty headers from what I have read is a pita and not worth the trouble for the very little HP gain. I see that you live in Washington but in California the FRPP headers aren't emissions friendly either. I believe the JBA shorties are just as good and emissions legal in all 50 states.
No emissions tests in the Evergreen State. I had shorty headers on my '96 for five years.
The install in the '96 was difficult. The engine mounts had to be unbolted and the block jacked up to get clearance to work.
I was just wondering whether anybody has done the install of either shorties or even long tubes and whether it was any easier on the S197 chassis.
