Basically its the same thing as the SLP Loudmouths just with different tips... It would probably sound almost identical to the loudmouths maybe the slightest difference because the SLPs have thicker longer tips which would produce a slightly different sound than the SLPs... But compared to the price of the SLPs now it sounds like a good deal... and Pypes makes top quality stuff

Exweeze me if this is a stupid question/idea:
I have been listening to MANY (probably ALL) the Youtube clips on the various axle-backs offered for our cars. My conclusion:
The muffler delete option sounds almost identical, and in a few vids BETTER than the SLP's and others. In fact, my fave sound from inside is a guy who deleted his muffs, and it sounds like a freekin stock-car. Mean as all get-out. So, my question is:
why pay all that $$$ for a fancy muff-delete when you could probably get a local Midas, or any Muffler shop to do that for between $50-100??
Also, does anyone know if mufflers are required in VA to pass inspection??
If so, do the SLP's pass?? After all, there aren't any mufflers there to speak of, like on the Pypes system.
Thanks!

My Pypes Violators only cost a few bucks more than the muffler delete. I've heard the Stang w/o mufflers and while it is rather cool, it's too loud for a daily driver.

are you happy with your violators now that your install issues seem to be fixed? Im looking for a good loud, but not to loud muffler to go with the stock H.

The Violators do have noticeable drone, but short of getting Corsas or GTAs, all of the aftermarket axle-backs will drone. I rather like them but I'm not 100% satisfied with the engineering/manufacturing quality. I felt that they should have been a bolt-on modification. Instead I had to pull out my MAPP torch and I may have to go back in and widen the notches so the pipes can clamp the stock intermediate pipe better.
There's also my concern about water drainage. They seem to collect a lot of water and it's not draining or burning off. I'm not sure I want to drill a hole in the muffler shell.
However, after reading about how others had to bend hangers, widen notches and do some other minor fixes to have their axle-backs fit better, the Violators don't seem like a bad option. They're T304 SS and fully polished, about $240 shipped from Brenspeed. Everything on the market with the same material easily costs about 1.5-3 times more.
In terms of sound, they're similar to the Aston Martin V8 Vanquish roadster exhaust, at least comparing exhaust video clips to Fifth Gear's video clip of the V8 Vanquish's exhaust...

I love the sound of the Violators. I've never noticed standing water, but I've never taken mine off, either. Mine fit perfectly. But I've heard of fitment issues with all the options out there. It's just the way the hangers are. Some people have problems, some don't. I had a bit of drone around 1500-2000RPMs before the off road h. I have no drone, now. Never trumpets.

Steve isn't the only one that has reported drone reduction with off-road H/X-pipes. I have very noticeable drone at 1500-2000 RPM but I kind of like it especially since I shift at this RPM range. Some of the muscle car owners that I talk to say that water collecting in a T-304 SS shell isn't that big of a deal. It generally shouldn't rust through. I just wish these mufflers were engineered better. OEMs like Arvin Meritor, Maremont, and Tenneco can mass produce mufflers with welded hangers that fit into the intended application without modification.
