Hurst shifter rattle

I had my Hurst installed yesterday, it when you get on the gas, when the RPM's are up, it rattles. I thought it was the shifter ball, so I replaced it with a T handle and it is still there. If you put your hand on it, most of the noise goes away. Any ideas what might be causing it. I may buy some dynomat and try to see if that helps, but I am wondering if something else is the issue.

No not here. Of course the obvious, double check to see if all is torqued down. Put a wrench on everything. If not that, I put a think coat of clear silicone sealant between the serrated chrome halves and put them together and tightened it down.

There was some talk on the site about the rattle when driving, but mine is rock steady.

Same here. No problems at all. However, due to the warnings, I put some rubber gasket material between the handle and the shifter when I installed it.
Also re-uesed the stock rear bushing.

Can you guys lead me to the threads about the issues? I cannot find them. Also did you put the rubber between the two pieces and tighten the 2 bolts down.

Thanks

Yes. I did tighten them. I didn't use locktite, though. It says to use it in the instructions. I'm afraid I'll regret that down the road. If the handle gets loose, I'll go back and use it.

These 2 threads should cover everything you want to know:

My Husrt shifter started to rattle, and it felt really loose. I simply tightened down the two nuts (under the rubber boot) that connect the shifter handle to the actual shifter...problem solved

Same here. You would think that it would be obvious when those two bolts are loose but it's not. I had them loosen up twice on me, the second time I put loktite on them. That was only a few days ago, I hope that takes care of it.

Here is what I have tried and none of it had made a difference. Rubber innertube ziptied around the bottom of the stick, Silicone between the two pieces of the stick. Rubber between the two pieces of the stick. Bottom boot, over the two bolts. Any other ideas? Come on MGW hurry up already. I like the T-handle and short throws but come on already, the rattle is uckinfey annoying.

So is yours rattling because the handle is coming loose from the shifter? If no, what exactly is rattling?
