285 rear tire?

On my 06 GT I ordered 19'' Zenetti wheels with 245 tires in front and 275 in rear. But now the shop that I ordered from says they cant get the rear tire that I wanted in a 275, they can only get it in a 285. I think that the wider the rear tire is the better it will look, but I dont want it to rub at all and I dont want to sacrifice performance. Am I safe to run 285's in the rear with no rubbing at all?

I think 285 is too small. I want to get 305/25/20's for my rears on my car. My KDW's are toast with over 30,000 miles and 200 burnouts ro more. lol. Yeah 285's will give you no problems. Im also running 20x10.5's in the rear for rims.

The outside of the ten inch deep dish wheels are even with the outside edge of the fender and I have 305/35/18s on order plus car is lowered. I do hope I have no problem. Someone here said they had that setup so I took their word and called Discount Tire for some drag radials.

I'm running 295/35/ZR19's in the rear and there is no rub what so ever. You can easily run up to a 315, but I think that is too extreme. Remember though, if your car is lowered and you throw wide meats on the rear, you'll definately need an adjustable pan hard bar. My driver side stuck out a bit more than the passenger side but a pan hard bar fixed that.
