Just curious....

I asked my gf if she wanted;

a. black stripe kit on my car

b. my car to be louder (hpipe)

Her reply..... louder because she doesn't know what the stripes would look like. So I sent her a couple pics of a blue stang with black stripes.

It's her call....

I wanted to know if anyone has been pulled over for excessive noise and or pulled over by the california rolling smog dyno ****'s... and what happened, warning or ticket?

I read on one forum that a guy got nailed for having an o/r xpipe.... but he didn't specifiy how and why he got the ticket....

i believe they give you a warning and if they catch you again it is a ticket and you have to fix the problem and report to an inspection shop to get another inspection sticker

 

I've had my O/R H since Oct and haven't had any problems with cops.

 

I haven't had any problems yet but you just have to be careful when your gettin on it because you never know whos around the corner

 

Just a tad off but I had heard that like a K & N CAI cannot be used in California for such stuff ? But when I had K & N look into it for me they did the research ! Thank-You and because I am CANADIAN that I can drive with my K & N on in California . kinda wierd

 

I don't have an 05, but I drive with open headers, never had any trouble

If you can keep your foot out of it for most of the time, especially whilst in the midst of traffic, you should be quite alright.

 

Ha my buddy was driving my car and got pulled over for it being too loud, but my car is REALLY loud. Got off with a warning though.

 

Jake, the SLP sounds ****ing badass the way it is now, as soon as you start to make it louder, things begin to go down hill. I went that route, and am back at stock cats and SLP for now. I suggest spending the money elsewhere unless you want to waste some in a learning experience.

Have you thought about underdrive pulleys?

 

I'm looking at ANY and all mods under 200$....

Seems there are a ton of them that fall under 2 bills but I don't want to waste the money....

i've heard some cars lately with o/r pipes and they sound mean and loud... wish the slp sounded that way....

i like the way it sounds now, just want it a little louder and more mean sounding wiht a little perf boost.

as you know, I LOVE my H-pipe. You just have to be careful when around "da fuzz". I've had many cops, including motor cops, come up behind me and beside me with no problems. That's with my Magnaflows, though. Not sure about the SLPs. I think that's gonna be SICK loud!

BTW, thanks for your help yesterday, dude. The shift light worked out great!

I got busted.

I was running an Off Road H Pipe and my FRPP Stingers. I got pulled over from a dead stop. The cop said he'd been after me for 3 weeks, but everytime he saw me, he was busy doing something else.

He was a real *****!

Like I said, I was at a dead stop at a stop light in the far right hand lane. He was in the left turn lane, but came over when he saw me. He pulled up right next to my car inbetween me and the car in the lane to the left of me. I figured he was in a hurry, so when the light turned green, I motioned for him to "go ahead".

He told me to go and got right behind me and turned on the lights.

He laid his fat a** on the ground and looked underneath my car. Then he made me pop my hood and he took a bunch of pictures of my intake (C&L TrueFlow at the time) and my lack of cats.

He sited me for Smog Violation and Illegal Exhaust Modifications. He also made me get it signed off by the state referee. I returned my car to stock when I got home, and I went to the state referee within a few days. It cost me $30 for a smog certificate, since they gave me a smog check.

I later got a fine in the mail for $477. I went to pay for the fine, but the clerk (hot chick) told me that I could see the judge and he usually cuts the fine in half.

I went to court a month later, and showed the judge my smog certificate. He immediately dropped the case! I just had to pay $5 for the paperwork fee.

Funniest part of the story is that the weekend after I got the ticket, I got my Kenne Bell installed! I wonder what the cop would say now!

So yes, you may get caught, but if you go to court, you may get a break on the charges, and they may even drop the case.

Also, I waited until I moved out of that city to put the O/R H back on...

 

that sucks royally, man...glad you got a break, though!

 

I've had several cops here in Denver ask me where I got my FRPP Stingers from. They don't seem to mind the rumble.
