Hot Rod Cams

I am wondering, does anyone know if the 3 valve spring compressor is required to do the change from stock to the hot rod cams? i have heard it is...and then i have heard it isn't...i know you will need the timing wedge, but i have heard you can get away with no spring compressor

If youy are not changing springs you do not need to compress the springs. I had HR cams installed 4 days ago and I watched the tech/mechanic the whole time.

These cams have a really cool sounding idle, and they make my Shaker "shake".

you do not need the valve spring compressor. when you are taking out the old cam, just slowly loosen the bolts in the caps. say a half turn at a time. till you get all the caps off. then when you are putting the new cam in be very careful not to bump the followers or or knock them off. they just sit there. but set the cam down and hold it in the right place. then put the caps on while holding cam in right in place and tight the bolts half turns at a time and be careful and watch the alignment pins on the caps and be sure they are going into the right spots. but go half turns at a time till you seat the caps and torque in the proper order. pm me if you have more questions and i can give you my cell number in case you have questions wile doing it. there is a guy over on the modded mustangs forum that sells the timing wedge for $45, his name is anthony05gt.
