Well... it's a really long thread... almost a book now. Plus, the movie is already out, too.

Hey Dan, do you think it's the turn down itself that did the trick or is it the smaller diameter...or both?

Is this a chapter in the book already?

Its a combination of the slightly smaller pipe and turn down.

Ok, someone asked for the pics of the turn downs that do the trick. Mind you Im still using the first pipe of the SLP Loudmouths so I could utilize the hangers. I just replaced SLP's resonator tips with the $5 turn downs.

they have had their good share of burnouts but there is quite a bit of thread for normal driving.

Mac07cobra, did you have any retune done when puting on your longtubes?

From the first minute of cranking the engine over with the pipes installed I got a CEL, a retune is almost always required for most engine modifications.

Also take note that I only had 2 of the 4 O2 sensors installed, the reason for the CEL. I opted for turning them off so I didnt have to buy extensions.

Dan - just watched the video, and have a few comments:

1. God bless good ole American horsepower!
2. 2 words instantly came to mind when you floored it: Pro Stock! That's what it reminded me of - the sound of a Pro Stock NHRA car for just a brief second.
Awesome to say the least.
I read the whole thread, but didn't see where you mentioned anything about gains. How was the SOTP feel afterwards, and have you had it on a dyno since the Hookers were installed?
Thanks!

Are the hooker headers made out of 304 Stainless steel?

wow, I totally missed the responses...

I couldnt say one way or the other if going to straight pipes (turn downs) did anything at all for performance. SOTP is the same. I only was interested in getting that really hardcore Pro sound. I'd be cool to do cams just to enhance it.

Once I get my new Lincoln the Mustang is being limited in daily driver service and Im putting the turn downs back on. They help me keep my foot out of the pedal and my speed down. The bad *** effect is awesome of course.

Oh, the Hookers are aluminum I believe. Its been a while and I have forgotten.
