HP gains on mods dont stack. If those gains are per item the don't total 36hp on the low end. But if they are dyno'd one mod after the other then they would total 36hp.

Stacking, what are you talking about? Those gains are seen on a dyno. The tune will make the mods listed above more effective because you are messing with the A/F ratio as well as a host of other readings that the ECU sees.
So was a dyno done after every mod? And were those the gains they showed? I was doubting the numbers, just trying to explain the gains don't stack. Say an Intake system states 20hp gains, then someone says there Cat-Back will give you 10hp gains. If you put both of them on your car you will not get a 30hp gain. Did that make sense?
That makes no sense at all. If you dyno 270 stock and add a CAI, which puts you at 280. You made 10 rwhp, per the dyno. Next you add mufflers, which puts you at 285 peak rwhp. You made 5 rwhp, agian per the dyno. Add those 2 mods up and you gain 15 rwhp. Lasty, you add dyno tune via SCT and gain 25 rwhp. You are at 310 rwhp per the dyno. This you gained 40 rwhp. Those are hypothetical numbers, but should clear things up. I really don't understand how you say "mods" don't stack.

I think you are both right, its just you are saying different things.

Jason is saying that you add one mod, dyno it, add another mod, dyno it again...etc.... obviously those numbers will be right.

I think GOFISCH is saying that dynoing each mod individually with nothing else done to the car, adding the individual gains up will not give you the same net gain by adding all the mods at once. This makes sense as well as each mod will have an effect on the others. For example, if you add an exhaust by itself you will see "x" gains. If you add a CAI by itself you will see "y" gains. If you add them together, you may see more than just "x+y" gains because both individually are restricted by not having done the other. I'm sure it may work out to less than the two added for some mods as well. I sorted through dyno # when doing the CAI and exhaust for my Probe GT back in the day. That is how it worked.

Just my take on it anyway.

Dan, I was gonna say the ssame thing. But, you don't do mods seperately though, as GOFISCH was saying. You do one, then another, and then another. You don't add the exhaust, and then take it off before dyno'ing it again with the intake kit, then take that off before tweaking the computer. It's a running tally, I'm sure.

wait a minute. all I asked was about the AirBox, and now we are talking about Dino Numbers!
I guess I will wait for 2005redGT's numbers to come in, partly because he already has most of the mods I am going to do.
only Im adding a ducktail, and upgrading to the Cobra remake deep dish Bullit Rims.
P.S. 2005RedGT your site is awesome, can't wait to see what you do next! It's like waiting for the next episode of Survivor!
what part is going to be voted off the car???????
tune in next Dino...

Sweet... obviously no dyno numbers until the 11th... but I'd love to know if you can feel a difference in acceleration after installing them. And by the way, did Steeda tell you how many horses it will give you. All I have read on their site is that it "frees up extra horsepower". Would be nice if they told us around how many.

Are you talking about the deep dish bullitts made for last year's model? Everyone is saying they won't fit the '05, but I think they will. I did some calculating on the width and offset, and if you get the 9" wide wheels the wheels will be the same inside, and stick out about an inch or so. So, that would be the equivalent of putting 1" wheel spacers on the stock wheel, as far as wheel clearance to the outside. Once you get the wheels installed, please post some pics. I have been interested in those wheels since I first wanted this car.

Thanks for making the call. Can't wait 'til you get 'em on and let us know how easy they were to install (are you doing them yourself?) and if you can feel anything.

What else do you have planned for your GT? Supercharger? Turbo?

That's how I see it as well.

I'd be more interested in dyno numbers for combinations of performance parts. The only exception would be for things that the regular person would put on first/alone such as exhaust.

Thank you for putting it more clearly than I did. :worship:
