Help: Link to a swaybar installation how-to

Hey,

TacoBill doesn't have one. Steeda doesn't have one. It seems easy to me, but I am a visual kind of guy that likes pictures. Anyone have a how-to for sway bars?

Thanks.

I ordered these Eibachs too. Take a few pics during the install if you see anything out of the norm please.

This vid should help get you going

I installed my Eibach swaybars a couple of weeks ago. Not much to it really. I rarely referenced the included Eibach instructions. I did it on short ramps, took under an hour per end.

If you need any help or advice, let me know. I installed them myself.

What size mm sockets did you use? Did you use loctite on the bolts?

I don't remember all the sizes of sockets and wrenches I used, nothing out of the ordinary though, any standard socket/wrench set should have the job covered. The only thing I used loctite on was the allen bolts on the rear bar links.

14,17& 19mm on the rear bar + allen wrench for the end links.
Cannot remember for the front. I think 14 & 17 or 19 up front as well. The front sway bar links have a real small stud, 6 or 8mm.
Did you get the Eibach directions with your kit?
If not, I can scan & email you mine.

Allen wrench, I am going to have to hunt those down in a box somewhere in the shed. I have the wrenches.

I had to start all over. I had the sway bar upside down. I talked to eibach and they straighten me out. The other challenge was that I torqued down one of the bracket nuts more than 52 ft lbs, I accidentally left the setting at 85 when I tightened the chassis bolts. I noticed the nut starting to bend a little, so I stopped. Remember to change to torque settings, check! Torquing the nuts on the ground is nearly impossible. I tightened them somewhat tight in the air, then lowered and torqued to 85 and 52 lbs.

I give the front sway bar installation difficulty as a 1 out of 5 and the rear sway bar as a 2.5 out of 5. The time is 40 minutes for the front and 2 hours for the rear, on a first time basis. Otherwise cut the front down to about 20 minutes and the rear to about an hour and 15 minutes.

I needed a 8mm, 14mm, 15mm deep, 18mm, and 19mm sockets and wrenches. I used gear wrenches, a breaker bar, and one 12" extension and were very helpful. Both rear tires needed to be removed, neither front tire needed to be removed. This does work on a convertible with the additional rear-bracing.
