Headers question...

Just a quick question about headers nowadays...do you have to change the gasket every so often like the old school headers or no? I always thought it was a pain in the *** to do that and had to change em every so often when there was a header gasket leak etc.

Do we have to worry about these kind of problems with new headers?

Depends I suppose on both the gasket and the flange that mates with the cylinderhead. There are some better gaskets out there that aren't like to old paper ones. A nice think flange helps as well.

Given that, just make sure if your installing headers that you get a good locking header fastner and dont over tighten it.

When I installed my shorties last year, I re-used the stock metal gaskets. No problems doing so, and I don't think that they'll wear out anytime soon LOL.
