header bolts - hex or allen?

A friend of mine traded in his 05 GT for a 04 Cobra. He needed help returning his car back to stock and installing new parts on the cobra. So for my efforts I got his mac LTs and O/R prochamber. I bought a set of used hi flow cats to seal the deal (**** SoCal). I will be installing them myself since I love to wrench on my cars. My question is what type of bolts have you guys been using? Hex head or allen head? I'm thinking allen heads would be a lot easier to install due to increased clearance with the smaller tools. I don't think the locking bolts are needed on these, and don't feel like dealing with them. I will be leaving in two of the studs, just have to figure out which ones, probably top two on each end. Can't wait to fire it up and hit the road.

I would get the Stage 8 lockers. I am pretty sure the have a regular head and an allen head on the same bolt. You dont need to install the locking washer if you dont want to, But just think if you spent the extra time you would never need to re tighten them.

I did the Stage 8 bolts when I did my headers. I don't really think they are necessary really. The bolts are great...the locking tabs were a b!tch to install.

I ended up using hex head bolts with an attached washer. The hex head provided more surface area for both the wrench and contact area to the header flange. Also allowed for more tool options.

RET installed my JBA shorties, used hex bolts. My motor was out for the install if that makes any difference.

That will make it SLIGHTLY easier to access the bolts.

I had to take advantage of it because the labor to install them was essentially free.
