I've been reading that an upgrade path for the Xcal 2 is available, but I can't find anything on SCT's website (here). How do you do the download, and what does it give you? Right now my unit has no user-selectable options (like gear ratios, tire size selection, or more technical stuff like spark adjustment, etc.)

Go to their home page, look to the right of the Xcal 2 ad, you will see the link to the download page.
