Has anyone relocated their battery?

If so please let us know where you got the kit from. How well has it worked out for you? I'm thinking when my battery goes bad I would like to get a bigger one or not be stuck having to get the same size battery. A little more weight off the front end isn't such a bad thing either.

Honestly, moving the battery to the back isn't worth it unless you're planning on getting an intercooler res. to mount in it's place to run ice at the track in my opinion. Even than I don't think it's that great of an idea when you can have a shop fab up a tank to put in your trunk in the spare tire's place which would work much better. The factory battery location isn't bad at all since it's behind the front wheels. It becomes a problem when the battery is sitting forward of the front wheels. I think if you want to do anything you should just look into getting a lightweight Deka (Braile) battery and mounting it in the factory location. Also, remember that if you do mount the battery in the trunk you're going to have to mount a emergency cutoff switch on the rear of the car if you want to race it.

Just as some info and a question.

My Dad has a 2009 G8, it has the battery in the trunk factory, do they also need a cut off, because I'm sure all the G8s out there racing don't have them. Also his battery leaked after a couple months and it ate through the carpet around it, some of the paint inside the trunk and the housing for it. Not that It wouldn't do that up front, but mine also leaked a bit, and no damage being under the hood

I think in that case, pontiac uses a special switch, much like the fuel cut off switch on our cars, so when the car is in a collision or flips over it will cut the power from the battery.

Since it's factory than you would not have to have a switch.
