Gutted my cats.....

Any reason why you couldn't just remove the cats altogeather and replace with a straight pipe? Since they don't check emmisions in your state I doubt they check to see if the cats are on. Also in the event you want to sell the car to an out-of-stater you could put them back on without having to buy them again.
I think I'll send this thread to the Greenpeace headquarters.

Yeah, there would be more to it than welding some pipes on, which I'm not a welder... I'd have to pay someone a minimum of $75 to weld the pipes. Plus, you'd also need the guy to be able to weld fittings (a total of three) onto the h-pipe. So, you are talking more like $150 by the time you get fittings and get someone to weld it all up. If there is ever testing, you'll be able to get a cheap catted pipe for less than that, I'm sure. But that's a big if.

This whole thread predates me being here on TMS!
I probably won't get an answer to this but why was he banned? Too many violations of the curse word filter? Driving a Honda and LIKING it?
Gutting the cats sounds like a bad idea, especially here in the People's Republic of California. One highway sniffer station would make out to be a very expensive day.
