gt500 suspension?
gt500 suspension?
I know a guy selling the OEM suspension off his 08 gt500. this includes shocks, struts, springs, rear lower control arms, and sway bars. My question is will all this fit and improve the handling of my 06 gt? anyone ever do this. I plan on installing everything except the springs with I plan to replace with Ford racing P springs. Amy input would help. thanks.

Ok ,you ask ,so here is my reply,,just say NO ,,and get your own suspension parts for your GT ,,its still stock ford parts ,GT500 is just a name and bigger motor ,you can find better after market at a lower price now,,just shop around and look for guys selling stuff ,,save your money and get the real stuff ,,just saying ,,

and it looks and works alot better than stock GT500 junk,
I'd say pass on it, and get suspension components designed for a GT and not a GT500. I've also read somewhere (don't remember where) that the GT500 suspension isn't ideal for a GT, because it is set up for the weight difference of the 5.4L vs. the 4.6L.
No the stock GT suspension is junk. The GT should have been fitted with the GT500 setup (which is about 20% stiffer compared to the GT stuff) and the GT500 should have been fitted with the FR3 stuff (which is 20% stiffer still compared to the GT). Even with the craptacular first gen supercar tires a GT500 will outhandle a GT (stock vs stock). The only "factory" Mustang that came with a better suspension (but suffered with its all-season tires) was the Shelby GT
That said, given the weight distribution and staggered tire size, I'm thinking the GT500 suspension wouldn't be ideal on a GT in any event.
err... what 36 said
