Scott ! My best advice for Charlie, is sell his GT500 brace to someone who already has an aftermarket, or GT500 hood. And should he still decide that he'll want a STB, he can always contact KC, whom I'm sure would offer him a great deal on a Bullitt STB, that is designed to fit the stock GT hood with no clearance issues.

I couldn't agree more Scott, for Charlie can either try and sell it on E-bay, or go to the classified section here on TMS, and list it for sale over there. Either way, he shouldn't have any trouble in finding someone who's in the market for one.

You mean like this? Stock GT500 bar, stock GT hood and no problems.

We have special spacers to go under the bar mounting plates. When you reverse the bar and use our spacers it works like a charm.
We also color match the bars.

Tucker: How much do the spacers cost? Will it clear the OEM factory plenum cover w/ the GT500 STB?

I don't think it will clear the cover. That covers pretty high and the hoods low, so not much room to play with.
With the spacers we have about about 1/2" above the intake manifold.

Rocky said he tried reversing the bar but it still wouldn't work, even with washers underneath the rear part of the brace.

That's correct, even with washers underneath the rear part of the brace along with reversing the bar. It would still not clear when using the OEM plenum cover !

That's correct. It will not fit with the plenum cover, but will clear the hood and engine when reversed and the use of spacers.
