GT500 springs
GT500 springs
I may be purchasing some Vogtland GT500 springs for my 08 GT/CS. My main goal is strictly appearance. I want a lower more aggressive look. Now I know that the GT500 springs have a higher spring rate so they will be stiffer than some Vogtland springs designed for the GT. But can I still anticipate a drop?
Here is some info that I gathered so far, but I'm not sure what to make of it.
Vogtland Springs:
GT -
Front/Rear
Spring lb/inch Working Rate lb/inch
Front 160 lb./in. - 240 lb./in. 180 lb./in. - 240 lb./in.
Rear 120 lb./in - 220 lb./in. 180 lb./in. - 220 lb./in.
GT500 -
Front/Rear Spring lb/inch Working Rate lb/inch
Front 152 lb./in. - 250 lb./in. 152 lb./in. - 250 lb./in.
Rear 121 lb./in - 225 lb./in. 121 lb./in. - 225 lb./in.
What does this translate to?
Thanks,
Garrett

I sell Vogtland springs among others.....
They are nice quality, but frankly a little stiffer than necessary. If you are looking at them because they drop the nose less than the tail, Steeda Sports do the same thing, and ride better while they are at it (also require less shock rebound if you are say thinking about staying with stock dampers, not that I recommend that).
They are close, very close... so close that there is realistically not much difference at all. Stock springs are around 140 pounds, to put the Steeda Sports I recommend and sell a ton of into perspective, they are 200/175. Firmer than stock, not quite that stiff. Seriously, I know it's not cool as I sell a lot of them and you wouldn't have springs that are that special, but there is a reason I recommend the particular version I use (there are two, I only use one) so much.
