UPDATE. GT500 splitter is on! (a couple photos posted)

I installed it last weekend/this week, so no pics yet since the car is icy and salty, maybe tomorrow. It looks exactly like the silver car that has been floating around the forums above though. It is not an install for the faint of heart.

I have done auto resto work for years and this is my expirience.

I had it bolted up to the car in an hour and a half or so. The rest of the time was spent making it look as factory as possible.

It took roughly 6 hours of fitting and grinding, and fitting, and grinding, and fitting to make it look right. I enlisted a buddy to help with holding it up to the car for fitting until I got it half fastened and centered. While 6 factory holes line up, it required drilling 4 addl holes in the underside of the factory bumper and I am planning on drilling one more in each fender liner as soon as I am happy with the angle of the side "wings" which are somewhat adjustable but without heating them or something which I have not done yet, it is impossible to get them perfectly straight due to the curve in our GT bumpers. I used a mix of factory shelby hardware and standard things.

Also I ended up filling the holes that show by using black finishing plugs from McMaster carr which look perfect. For the center tab that shows. I cut the tab off and smoothed the splitter. Then bought a block of black delrin stock and machined a low profile custom plug to fill the hole which took about a lunch hour of machine time using the mill at work.

I have not found an off the shelf solution for the square plug yet but am waiting for samples from a plastic plug company that I ordered before I got antsy and just decided to machine one myself yesterday.

Was it worth it for me? Yes. But it was not an easy bolt on by far.

***UPDATE***

I shot a couple really quick photos today just to show you guys. Mind you. It snowed a few times this week and the car is very dirty/salty. There is actually frozen water spots on the black lip in the photos along with salt so disregard any discoloration you see. It is 20 degrees outside today so washing is not an option, and my garage is tied up with the mopar right now. Also the wheels on the car are my winter wheels.

I still have to finish up the install, take more pics, change some of the harware over to stainless pieces I ordered this week, etc. More photos to come!

Can't wait to see the photo expose ... give us plenty along with any details where you did the time consuming fitting.
