I was just looking at that website, I used to live in San Diego County, and am I reading this right?

The track is at Jack Murphy!! (I will ALWAYS call it that)
Yep... in the parking lot at the stadium. Along the western edge, south of the Friars Road entrance. The two parallel tracks run north from the trolley track overpass towards Friars.

Don, you mentioned the closest 1/4 mile track is 90 miles away, I believe. Just curious which track were you referring to? I've been out of it too long to know where to look for a good run.

California Dragway in Fontana. About once a month they have street legal drags. If you aren't there before noon, you may not get in. They "limit" it to 400 cars. If 400 show up, you'll be lucky to get in 3, maybe 4 runs, max. And that's with them racing until midnight. So, it's kind of frustrating to spend 3 hours driving (roundtrip), plus 12 hours at the track, for 3 or 4 runs. I've only done it once (back in June). It was fun, but there is a lot of downtime. I'll probably go back there once more this year (maybe Nov/Dec timeframe).

By the way, FFW will be there on Oct 1 & 2... might be worth going to that (at least to watch).

Wish my track had pics like that and a website that was that cool. The black Corvette on the second page looks similar to one that runs the streets where I live, you don't even want to mess with him and it is killing me. He is running low 11's on street tires and by the time I post this reply I will be willing to bet he has broke into the 10's, all while remaning daily driven.
Here in H-Town there are a lot of fast domestics - high 10s and 11s are common on the street - just having any Stang at 300 horses or more will get you someone racing at ya wheather or not you want it - on the street, RTs,launches and handling count -

Great times Don !!! Pony Runs !! :worship:
