Angry Good Mechanic in Orlando, FL

Hi everybody!

I'm having some issues with the suspension. I have Eibach Pro springs, and TOKICO Adjustables to pair up. It sounds like an old car! Popping sound is driving me crazy. I want a shop that can look at it and fix it.

Any of you in the Central Florida Area knows a good mechanic or a good shop, someone that knows about mustangs?

Let me know.

Thanks!

Welcome to the club... lowered suspension breaks factory strut mounts. I'm going with Steeda ones when installing my racecraft suspension.

Try Ludo or Lugo Performance in Apoka. He has a good shop and it's the home of the Paxton Princess.

As far as the popping goes, is it when you turn your wheels. My car makes similar noises and I have just learned to turn up the radio.

Well, the sound is any time I go over any little bump! And then it vibrates when I'm going 60-90 on the highway (which is not scary at all, right?).

I'll look up either name in Apopka (that's actually perfect, that's where I live).

Keep the names coming if you can.

Thanks!

Is it from the rear or front? If the rear make sure the BMR Panhard bar is tight! My nut backed off and made it sound like the car was coming apart. Also if you have changed out wheels make sure you take the star looking washers off of hte factory studs before you put the wheel back on. That is what caused a huge vibration in my front end when I got the 20's.

Let me know if you have any other issues.

Rony - before you go looking for a mechanic, take the front wheels off and check the bolts (top and bottom) on the endlinks

Like so many others, mine started doing the SAME thing over small bumps - one bolt was somewhat loose and after tightening, sound DISAPPEARED.

I'm gonna try that, 'cause it's terrible! Anyways, I'll be looking for Lamotta in Longwood, see if I can get a hold of him.

As far as the washers, I checked when they were installing the new wheels, so I know those are gone. As far as the Adjustable bar, I'm gonna check. The popping sound is coming mostly from the front.

Any other names of mechanics around town?

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it.

I just read another thread, I guess the strut mounts are really a piece of work, right?

Well, I'm gonna check all nuts and bolts, and have a mechanic look at it, next would be that $300 from Steeda to get rid of it. It's embarrassing to drive down Park Avenue in Winter Park, the car sounds like it's about to fall apart!!!

The strut mounts are a one shot deal. You should replace them when you do springs.

Give BMR a call. They may have something for you. I think (not 100%) that they sell those stock ones with their springs. Just ask them though.

Well, the issue is gone! I went with Lamotta in Longwood, FL since they are Steeda Official Distributors, they were able to pass on a great price on the Heavy Duty mounts, and now the noise is gone.
So yes, once you change that, the noise is GONE!

When I lived in Orlando & had my 04 V6, I stopped by his shop to get a quote on some work & he turned his nose up at me. Basically he won't work on anything other than Cobras or big ticket items.

And yes, make sure you bring your vaseline with you if you do go there.

Has anybody in the Orlando area had any work done with these guys? I checked yesterday where they are supposed to be located (LUGO PERFORMANCE), and I can't find them. Also, their phone number is disconnected! there's a shop "Excessive Engineering" in the same industrial park where they are supposed to be. Is this their new shop?
Any other shops that can help me out? My car has a NASTY vibration in the front (right side), and I need someone to look at it.
Your help, as always, is appreciated!
