Gear change + auto flush!
Gear change + auto flush!
Hi !
I took my car in a garage (06gt auto) for a tranny flush and gear change (4.10)
Got my car today and throttle response is not like before, it s really slow, i ve to put down the foot to feel something. I adjusted the pcm with my sct tuner for gears. I know that they got some problem for tranny flush, they were not aware that there isn t dipstick on stangs! They put 4 quarts of mercon v fluid.
Do you think that i ve to wait until tranny will adjust my drive or there is a problem?
For sure i will get my car back to the garage because there s a little whistling at rear end when i launch the car hard.Sounds like a supercharger!lol
By the way i know that there is a Running time, so i haven t run it very hard
Whats the results in not enough oil and too much oil?
Yeah they are not very competent but that s all i ve found in my tinny country.
Sorry for my bad english! Hope you guys can help with yours experiences

I don't have an auto , so I don't know if you need to have the shift points adjusted for the gears or not ? I know the gear option on the SCT adjusts the speedometer for the gear change , but I'm not sure if it adjusts the shift points too. Someone else will probably know if it does and whether or not that could be your problem ...
If they didn't know about the sealed transmission I would wonder if they did the flush and fill correctly.
Especially since they only put 4 quarts of fluid in. Just draining the pan and refilling it should take almost 7 quarts if done properly. If you do a flush and fill it should take more because you are pulling everything from the torque convertor as well.
It sounds like they didn't fill it up with fluid. Does it slip at all on a shift?
A simple fluid drain and fill requires pulling the two piece plug out so it drains all the fluid. Then you have to remove the center section of the plug after reinserting it and use the refill tool to pump fluid back up into the transmission until it starts to drain back again; put the center piece back in the plug. The first time may take about 4 quarts. THEN, you have to start the car, run it through the gears and get it up to operating temperature. Leave the car running, in gear, and put the tool back in the center and pump fluid up into the transmission again until it starts to drain back out again.

Thanks for your help guys!
No there is no slip between gears, i would say it even pull hard. Maybe because of my tune? I M going back to the garage and make it leveled this morning. I drove 30 miles, sometimes a little hard, will it affect my transmission?
