I'm about to put in my intercooled Whipple and when reading the manual it calls out for "gasket cinch" before installing the gasket for the intake.
What is it and is it really necessary? I live in sweden and I've never seen the name before but most likely we do have something similar over here, I just dont really know what it is.

I'll probably use something like that if it looks necessary, I'll see when I take IC & SC apart. Theyre still in the box :-)

 

That will work. It's basically the same thing. Gasgacinch is a brand name of Edelbrock but just about any good quality sealer will work. I've used Permatex product like what you show above and I think it will work well for you.

Its a cure tacky adheasive that is brushed on. Very thin. Very easy to remove. Excellet for gasket or or machines surface that mater directly together. If you are familiar with contact (rubber) cement used for paper it is a lot like that but a different formulation. Just use a thin, brush on tacky kind of gaslet aheadsive if you can't get the real thing (was easy out in California, out here in Texas no one seems to know what it is either).
