If this topic is in the wrong place let me first apologize.

Maybe someone out there can satisfy my curiousity before I drop some bucks here.

Has anyone tried one of these G-Tech Perfomance meters on their mustang?

How well does it work?

How exactly does it work?

Am I to understand that this thing just plugs into your cigarette lighter?

Thanks for the help in advance guys!

My friend has one of the older ones, havent tried it in the mustang but did with my t-bird. It essentially uses physics to calculate when you reach 60 and 1/4 mile etc. The cig lighter is only for power. At a stop you press the button to zero it out then it calibrates itself and when ready you go. Worked pretty well. I'm not sure if it's 100% accurate, but probably does a decent job.

They work quite well. It was rated very high in C&D (I think it was C&D). The accuracy is fairly good but more importantly, it is very consistant so you can compare times with various mods on your car.

You have a cigarette lighter in your car? Where? Must be aftermarket. Or does one of the other inputs work the same?

I was looking around for gauges to throw into the a pillar and found this neat little toy. Essentially a lightweight version of the G-Tech, but you dont have that big thing sitting on your dash.

Ford does sell a conversion kit to make it a lighter though.
