fuel problem: please help - limited on time.

My fuel pump was suspected as being bad, decreased performance, sputtering and just falling on it's ***.

I fired the car up two days ago after sitting for 3 weeks and moved it 20 feet into a garage.

I just went out, replaced the fuel pump and hooked everything backup and it's not firing.

there is fuel pressure as I popped the fuel sensor off the fuel rail on drivers side and it spit at me.

I'm getting fuel.

Is there a fuse that might have blown as well? Which one?

I'm at my level of frustration... I have to study for a EMT class thats really ****ing hard and I dont need/want to spend my entire study time on fixing my car. I've alrady blow the entire day on it.

Suggestions?

As far as I know there is only one fuse to the fuel pump. It would seem it is working but our systems run at 40 psi so when you say it is "spitting" at you I have to wonder. I would think it would be more like a gusher. Have you changed you fuel filter? Could it be clogged up and limiting flow?

by spitting i mean that with it off and i released the item off th fuel rail it spit gas at me.. i didnt do it with fuel pressure on from pump.

I'll go check that now.

fuel filter was changed two weeks ago.

hmmmm

i just dug through my garage filled with boxes (we are moving into a condo next week) and will see what fuses are what..

i dont think ti's getting spark... but i'll verify fuel is flowing out fuel rail first.

I looked in the service manual for a fuse box layout and hell if I know what they call it these days.

Used to be able to crack it open and it would be the first few pages and tell you which fuse did what. Hell if i can find one.

since i dont have time, I hate to take it to a stealership lest they ***** about the mods... but i have no clue what the hell it would be.

I went out to give it one last college try before towing it to our condo we just bought.

Plugged in my battery charger and waited a couple minutes.

It fired right up.

Drives like a scalded dog again...

My luck is looking up I hope.
