Resonable big brake kit

I used to see the gt500 brembos for 1000-1200bux a set. Now its around 1400bux a set?

Anyone know where I can get this kit for for a more resonable price than 1400?

Im also open to sugestions.

Thanks!

check craigslist fleebay and your local junkyards. I think there is a place on the web you can search a bunch of junk yards at once

The Saleen/Stoptech BB kit was the best deal around at 900 plus change.

Not sure if any sets are still available.

I found some actualy @950bux a set

However I am not particularly fond of them. Mainly because of the squeaking issues. Not to mention servicability, GT500 brakes are OEM, therefore ford has to continue carrying stock as far as rotors and pads are concerned. I am unsure how long parts are going to be available for the stop-tech sourced saleen brakes.

To my knowledge, the brake pads are very common (used a several Porsche models). Not sure about the rest of the components.

No squeaking issues here.

Found a shop selling the ford racing kit for $1150 shiped. Looks like my bank acount is going to take another hit. This kit however I am going to have professionally installed.

By any chance, anyone know a good place to get a set of new OEM rear rotors? Also maybe this is a good time to get a set of quick bleed valves. Any ideas?

That's because you made sure to "bed" them properly. That makes all the difference.

no way in hell. you need 18inch wheels with spacers, or 18inch wheels with the right spacing.

You'll need 18" wheels that are made for big brakes. Ford says GT500 wheels, but Saleen, Steeda and Shelby should fit as well.

American Muscle's GT500 replicas will fit as well...and Roush Track Pack wheels, if you can find them.

I've read the 18" fan blades clear the GT500 brakes. Think I saw that on the CJ Ponys parts website.
Here's some that will also fit http://www.blueovalindustries.com/pr...p?pid=99013806 best price I found.

I dunno about the fanblades...the wheel ID might clear, but I'm not sure about the spokes. They would probably work with a spacer. Don't take this as "it's all good" and do it, though!

Killer price on those wheels, a few bucks less than what I paid for my knockoffs!
