The spider gears gave out. Just annihilated the spider gears. I talked with Auburn and was given a little bit of a run-around initially, but ended up talking with one of the engineer's. He told me that they've recently changed the type of metal they were using for the spider gears. You don't change materials without an issue at hand. Auburn is sending another. Back to FRPP...The fella doing my gears went to install the gears and found the gears installed easily. He measured everything and found that where there was supposed to be a taper, wasn't tapered. Called his supplier and found out that there has been a bad batch out there. There goes the libel portion being covered, not in the exact manner, but this is my second set of defective gears. FRPP is sending another set as well. Tomorrow, he will be installing a Detroit/Tru-trac diff and Motive 4.56 gears. If anyone needs a Auburn Pro diff or FRPP 4.30 gears, PM me.
My suspension is out of wack right now. We're changing the pinion angle from -1.5 to -2.5. I'll also be ordering the MMR coilovers this Friday. Does anyone have an opinion in regards to LCA relocation brackets? I'm hearing different opinions about them. One says they're necessary if you lower the car, other one says they're not needed if you have an adjustable upper third link. What gives?
I appreciate the input.
I'll be at the track tomorrow night!

sorry for late post, but I also had a bad set of ford 4.30s ran them for less than a day. did some research then. Only gears made in USA are US GEAR. No problems now.

I am dedcated! What's funny is that I ordered a set of 4.56 Motive gears and there was an issue with them as well. For those that don't know, the driveshaft companion flange slips onto the pinion. With the flange over the pinion, there is a bearing and a crush collar between two. There is splines on the end of the pinion and internal splines on the flange. The flange is suppose to slide on the pinion, but not seat fully on the pinion. You then set the pinion depth by torquing on the nut and crushing the crush collar. What was happening was the flange was seating fully onto the pinion, not allowing you to crush the collar and set the pinion depth. This was with the FRPP 4.30's and the new Motive 4.56's. Supposedly, Motive makes all FRPP gears above 4.10's. So, we temporarily installed a set of gears that had 2 passes on them. I think they are a foreign make.
I need to relocate my lower control arms to get my instant center back. The geometry is off on my suspension. I haven't gotten any better 60 foot times than 1.75. My wallet is okay though.

If Motive makes FRPPs > 4.10, I wonder who makes FRPPs <= 4.10?
And if FRPP is putting their name on Motive 4.30s, etc., that kind of impies that Motive makes very good gears? Or does it mean that somebody else makes better 4.10s...? ? ? ? ?

ABOVE 4.10's. The FRPP 4.30's look just like the Motive ones and so do the 4.56's. The 4.10's look different. I had the same issue in both brands with the companion flange fitting on the pinion. Coincidental or what? I honestly don't know or really even care. I just want the rearend to hold up.
