Cool

I just installed mine this morning with the 93 octane tune and all I can say is DANG!!! Jay was great to speak with and the product is great! I can't wait to get down to the Atco Drag strip in southern New Jersey and give it a try.

One GREAT product.

I love my JLT.

I had some problems with the screws loosening - MAF screws and the air filter clip screws. These caused the CEL to come on but reflashing and tightening the screws seem to have solved the problem.

If they come loose again I'll dab some Loctite on em. It's the vibration that's causing the screws to loosen.

I'm extremely happy with the JLT CAI and it's definitly made a difference. The only thing that I would like to see is some sort of retaining mechanism that will keep the CAI tube from moving around. For example, the stock air intake had a bolt to hold the air box in place.

Thanks for mentioning the MAF screws coming loose. I happen to have some LocTite and I'll do that Sunday.

I'm most likely going to go next Thursday the 19th since i'll be off. I'll try to get there right at 4:30. Now this will be my first time on the strip and I know I'll have some learning/practicing to do.

I used mine for my first series of racing this weekend.

I raced a stock 2005 Mustang GT. His was stock other than Flowmasters, and mine had a JLT/93 Tune. I beat him by a car length (sorry Chris). I have a video that I am working on to show it. I will post it later.

If the full extent of my modding plans are CAI and exhaust, than am I better off with the Diablo or SCT tuner w/ the JLT? Why?

I e-mailed Brent at DTPRACING to find out about how getting tunes worked. He said the Diablo can read and clear faults from the computer. It can hold 5 custom tunes. If the Daiblo and JLT CAI are purchased together from JLT the first tune is included. Brent's final statement was if you go with the JLT CAI and the Daiblo Predator "You will not be disapointed."

Jay from JLT said the brand of tuner is a personal preference.

This is what I am getting, if I get my car.

Dysan,
Did you get a custom tune done, too? Know any good tuners in the area that have worked with the 05 already? I'm in S.Jersey too, and when I get mine will probably need a good shop, and am not familiar with any in the area that tune 05's yet.

I got an SCT tune (on CD) with my JLT CAI.

I didn't have to buy an XCalibrator since I already owned one. I just needed the tune file.

It worked just fine.

If you already own an XCalibrator or Diablo flasher then the choice is obvious.

I used the canned 93 octane tune from DTP for the Diablo Predator. I really don't think I need to get a custom tune on a dyno, or at least not yet.

Dysan,

I'm from Palmyra, and just ordered the JLT and DTP tune, and was wondering how you sent your tune to Brent.

Email.

You load a diablo/SCT tune onto your car so that the stock tune is loaded onto the tuner. Take that file from the tuner and save a copy. Then email one to Brent. He will change the parameters and email it back to you. it took him les than a few hours for me. That will be your canned JLT tune, load it into your tuner. Flash your car back to stock, then install the JLT tune into your car.

Pretty easy.
