FRPP Hot Rods...

Anyone have any more information on these cams? Will they really sound like that video on YouTube? If so, when will they be available?

Thanks for all the help!

I don't know if these are legit. I cannot find them anywhere. I can't find them on FRPP's website and I called my local dealer and they have never heard of them and can't find them in their system.

I can only find this 1 video and this 1 place that sells them. I am thinking about calling that speed shop in the video to check with them. I want to know what they sound like before I blow the money. They sound great in that video, but I just want to make sure that's what I am buying...

You know I have fell in love with the sound of these Ford cams since I have heard the first video. They are awesome sounding!!! But....I had the Comp Cams (NS cams )installed at Brenspeed on 2/15/08. I had a custom dyno tune done and I added longtubes and delete plates since the last dyno pull in Oct. at Brenspeed. I pulled 41 hp and 17 lbs more. So what are the claimed HP increases with the Ford cams. I have seen no numbers at all !! I still believe you can't have the best of both worlds....power and sound!!

I always said I would stay N/A, and now I found a definite reason to do that. These things sound SICK!!! Any info on price yet?

Not to side track the main subject, but please correct me if I am wrong...

Are the FRPPs or Comp Cams radical cams? If so, the car will be shaking more due to the lobes. Will there be any other issues arising from this or do I have to add any other aftermarket parts to compensate for the cams? Also what does No Spring Required mean? I never knew springs had anything to do with cams.

Honestly, I rather stick with the FRPP since it won't void the warranty anyway.

Both cam designs I would consider moderate, not radical. There should be no other issues with the car, and you don't have to do any other mods to compensate for the new cams.

The springs they are talking about are Valve Springs, inside the engine...not axle springs near the wheels. The more aggresive cam designs require different valve springs because the lobes on the cam are bigger. That means they will compress the springs down further, or hold them open longer. That is more strain on the springs, and the stockers just won't hold up. The NSR cams (no springs required) are not aggressive enough to require new springs.

The FRPP's will most definitely void your warranty, or at least the engine part of it. Just because it is made by Ford Racing, doesn't mean it will be honored by Ford for the warranty.

I've read somewhere the power gains from these were only around 25rwhp and bottom end torque would suffer.

I might just say screw it and forget these cams...

I will think about this after my warranty is up. I have 3/36,000 right now, but I am planning on getting the 7/75,000 with the ESP just to be safe.

Yeah not sure if the cost and the rest of the downside are enough to compensate, though they do sound absolutely sick.

The cams on the youtube vidoe are not NSR - they have upgraded springs. They are not yet on the market according to the shop owner in the picture.
