FRPP Hot Rod Cams OR BBR Stage 2 cams

FRPP Hot Rod Cams OR BBR Stage 2 cams
I have started modding my mustang, and geez I must say it has become a disease. I have installed Pypes O/R H with Pypes MidMuffler System, FRPP Bullitt CAI with Bamachips 93 Torque/Race tune. I have been craving the sound (mostly) and performance of aftermarket cams. I spoke with Dan at ProDyno and he basically pointed out that the Hot Rod Cams are not as beneficial for the money as say BBR or CompCams. I then called Brian at Boosted Performance, (close to my home) and he was very helpful. Basically, he said the Hot Rod cams are difficult to tune for maximum horsepower and torque when compared to cams and new valvesprings. The Hot Rod cams are rated for 50hp but most likely wouldn't see that much. The BBR with tune, CAI, and exhaust he said could bring as much as 335rwhp. I hopefully can get the Hot Rod cams and install them myself for less than $1000. The BBR cams with parts, labor, and dyno tune comes to $2137. I have researched a great deal and am unsure of which path I want to follow. So, my question is do I go ahead with the Hot Rod Cams in the spring when I can afford it, or do I wait until next fall and get the BBR's installed. I am not looking to supercharge the car anytime soon, I'm just trying to squeeze all I can out of a NA engine. All opinions and suggestions would be greatly appreciated! FYI I have not yet dyno'd my car since the Bama tune and CAI

Well this is just my .02 but I would go with the Hot Rod cams. With a good tuner they aren't that hard to tune. BBRs cams are a little dangerous. I will probable go with the Hot Rod cams this spring. I do have Chris from Tillmans to tune it for me.

I am honestly wanting to go with the Hot Rod cams as well, both for less money and great sound. What makes the BBR's a little dangerous? SO, Chris from Tillman is familiar with tuning for the Hot Rod cams? That is really my whole issue, trying to find someone that I trust to install them and tune them as well. I could possibly install them myself, but would feel more comfortable having someone reputable do it. I live in Eastern NC and am having trouble finding someone with a reasonable price to install.

Give us a call! We'll help you out. BBR cams just depends on what grind. I think Naturally Aspirated, you should go with the FRPP cams.

I will for sure. It will be a 560 mile trip and 9 hours of driving time, but I am sure it will be worth it.
