With the factory mid pipe w/cats, still in place ! they sound just slightly louder than stock at idle, but once you get on them.. you'll notice the difference for sure, as they get that nice deep, muscle car rumble..

However, if you cruise much in that drone range( 55-65 mph) and can't carry on a conversation with your passenger or listen to the radio without shifting down a gear or out of OD so you can hear, well they just seem to lose some of their appeal after time. Is it really about how loud you can make your car or how aggressive sounding on the outside while livable on the inside. Just my opinion.

Totally agree. I had Borlas and loved the sound they made but hated the drone. My GTAs are only loud when I want them to be.

Here's my Violators before and after adding off-road H pipe. The sound of the Violators is great. Best mufflers for S197's IMO. But they need an off-road pipe, because they're not much louder than stock with the stock midpipe.

I had GTA's first, they sounded good and no drone, but didn't have quite the muscle car sound I was looking for. Swapped them out for the MACs and am much happier, they drone a little yah, but step on it under a overpass and I know I made the right decision

How well is the internal tube of the Violator holding up? According to Pypes, they do not use fiberglass or any insulation material, which seems like a good idea. I hope the water drainage is good because usually mufflers rust from the inside out.
