LOL... I never would have guessed.
What about the SLP LM clip right above your post?

Like I said, I have heard all three in person. To each his own, I suppose. Everyone has their preferences, which is the way it should be. All of these multiple threads on exhaust clips are unlikey to change the minds of 98% of us anyway. As for me, I'll stick with my $150 LMs, and gracefully bow out of your FRPP thread.

I soooo belong in that 2% category.

I'd have to agree that I belong in that 2% as well. I was checking those videos out for days before I could finally decide!

Awe come on Pete, brain surgery is a piece of cake compared to pulling off stock mufflers.

Just figured Id step in since I just put my FRPP's on the other day. Anyone who thinks they sound remotely close to stock needs to sell their mustang and buy another car. Video will never do any justice to any aftermarket exhaust.. it just doesnt capture bass in any way, shape or form. I park in the garage and every morning around 7am i head to work.. I roll my windows down first then turn the car on. With stock it revved loud for a second then dropped down into the quiet zone. However, now when i turn my car on there is such a loud resonating bass frequency that something in my garage(and my car) vibrates until i back out. And as I said in an earlier post trying to leave the cul-de-sac in the mornign is a challenge but it always ends up the same way ....... bass flying all over the 5 houses in the culdesac. HAHA I love it.

racerx,

Great job with the video! Thanks for your efforts. I'm getting ready to order, which one of the three from FRPP did you get?

Thanks in advance,
Darin

Hey, that drivers side muffler was a pain to get off. :bang: Once I broke down and took off the hangers as well, it was much better.

Thanks for the video, great comparison. But the limitations in compressed digital format just don't do the exhaust justice.

The FRPP's are much deeper and much louder at idle than stock, or the JBA's for that matter. On start up and acceleration they are much louder than stock, or JBA, but Jewls claims they quite down to near stock once at cruise speeds (haven't taken it on a long drive yet). Still, they are brand new, and WILL get louder with time.

Ok, do not get the Q or the A version, these are both quieter. Best advice, order them from your dealer. I am never going to mail order such a major part again. Plus you don't have to pay shipping!

Ha ha ha ha Yeah right! I am pretty sure that I wake up half the block with mine at start up! They are loud. I am in love with mine!
Are you the same girlfriend that used to complaign about my Dakota being too loud? And basically forbid me from getting an exhaust on the Titan, and then got mad at me when I bought one anyway? :bang:

Just wondering, sounds like a different story to me.

Women, I'm not going to try and figure them out.

The correct model for the FRPP's is M5230-5GT.. Also at cruise speed they are almost as quiet as stock but you can still hear them rumbling a bit... Now this all depends on your cruise speed. At 75mph they are nice. However, at 60mph in 5th gear if you put any load on it at all I think anyone will agree that the drone kicks in at around 2k(60mph 5tH) and its not anywhere near as quiet as stock HAHA.. But you dont stay there long just have to get it up and over 65mph in 5th and its just fine. Or you could always use 4th.

OK, a little detective work...
He said he likes the 4" tips, and according to the FRPP website, only one of the 3 GT catbacks has 4" tips: M-5230-5GTA

Here's a break down as best as I can understand from reading the FRPP site:

M-5230-5GT (Louder, "throatier" exhaust note, 3.5" tips)
M-5230-5GTQ (Slightly "throatier" exhaust note than stock, 3.5" tips)
M-5230-GTA (Louder, "throatier" exhaust note, 4" tips)

I meant 'its not rocket science' or 'brain surgery' by stating why SLPs are louder...

Meaning...they have no muffler..of course they'd be louder....

Sorry Pete that was an inside joke. Hatchman had a mother of a time getting my stockers off, as did a couple other people.

I knew what you meant!

Yeah, and unfortuneately the FRPP site is a flaming piece of crap :notnice:

They're all 4" inch tips despite what they say. I took out my measuring tape and measured mine after I was able to slide my tips over a friends Magnaflow tips.
