As far as which to go with, the C&L will definitely net you some gains. I gained close to 20 rwhp over a BBK CAI. My biggest pet peeve with the C&L was the so called "heat shield" that they come with. When zip ties are in the directions I don't consider it well thought out. There are a few things you can do to "class it up" though. One of these has been on my list for a while:

And you can swap the filter for a different look like so:

That is an amsoil filter for reference. There is no reason we can't have function AND form
Love the looks, anything is better than stock when it comes to performance!

I like that heat shield. I wonder if it would easily fit the Racer or if would take some massaging.
I bought the Amsoil filter. It's about an inch longer then the S&B that C&L provides, I was concerned about the Amsoil filter hitting the inner fender but it looks like it has a lot of clearance on your car.

I'm here to help
the heat shield (according to Joe) is a direct replacement no issues what so ever. And don't forget I had my MAF portion powder coated to blend in better.
The filter will rub on the very bottom, use a cheap rubber grommet from autozone as a buffer and thank me later

Thanks for the pictures, beautiful car and engine bay. After looking at Rich and your photo's. I am going with the C&L Racer. It just looks like it would flow better.

There will be all sorts of numbers thrown out there....just don't count on accuracy or it really meaning too much, just like the C&L I have a custom intake manifold, no dynotune yet, but was not purchased for a single hp gain. Looking for even gas distribution per cylinder, which was a huge problem with high boost (22+ lbs) and stock intake manifold. But hey the Ford one looks good and if it makes you feel good for having one, especially if you can get a dynosheet to show an extra few ponnies, then great.
My 07GT had the FRPP Hot Rod cams, FRPP Throttle body, Steeda UDP's, C&L CAI.
Kooks LT's with a catted H Pipe.
The car was run on a dyno with the above mods to get a baseline. The FRPP intake was put on and the car was again run on the dyno.
My car with the above mods picked up 18 r.w.h.p. with the addition of the FRPP intake.
It did lose some torque between 2,000 to 2,500 r.p.m. I have not seen the dyno sheets, I have not driven the car, I just wanted to provide some info as I realize folks are waiting for some results.
I am going to go from 3.73's to 4.10's. I just think they make more sense with my current mods.

With your additional 18 rwhp and the installation of the 4:10's you are going to think that you just added 50 more HP. Your car is going to be a 4.6L NA beast. Congratulations Bob
I get unemployed for a year and half, need to fix my car.. login and find these two beautiful parts on the plate!!!!!
You guys are killing me..... I'd love to have the intake and TB.
Too bad I just spent 300 bones to replace a bad fuel pump.

Here are some photo's of the installed intake. I am very pleased with the intake. Starts making more power/torque at 3500 r.p.m. At 5000 r.p.m. the stock intake starts to drop off while the FRPP intake is still making power.
The car felt very strong on the freeway but that maybe the 4.10s.
I should have gone with 4.10s a long time ago.
