Front ABS wire attachment

I'm in the middle of installling a front brake upgrade (Baer GT-Plus) on my '07 GT and I have a question. The stock brake hoses have clips that retain the antilock brake wire. The Baer kit comes with stainless steel braided hoses which have no such clips. Any ideas/suggestions on how to retain the ABS wire. I thought about wire ties, but the stock clips only loosely retain the ABS wire (not tight, like a wire tie would retain it) and additionally I have heard that the ABS wire needs to have a certain amount of distance/isolation from the brake hose.

There isn't any kind of electrical signal going down the brake lines, so you don't have to worry about noise causing issues with the ABS system. The only reason I could see to keep the ABS wires away from the brake lines would be to keep the heat from them. If my memory is correct, the stock clips is about halfway along the flexible brake line. That should be far enough away from the caliper to keep the wires cool.

If it really bothers you, I would suggest you go get a rubber grommet that will fit over the ABS wire. Slice it open (think "C") and slip it one the wire. Then zip tie over the grommet to hold the wire to the brake line.

Actually that's what I did, except I used a bit of hose. I guess I was hoping that you could buy clips that would approximate the factory setup (yes, I know that J&M SS lines have the clips, but this is for a non-stock setup). I'm sure what I did will work OK, but using wire ties seems so bush league to me.

It'll work, and it's not "bush league," trust me. All you're doing is providing strain relief to the wire, and protecting the point of contact from abrasion. A slit grommet will work, a section of hose will work, a bit of split-loom tubing will work... If you look at a race car, you'd be surprised how much is held together with zip-ties...
