Found a 275/50-17 drag radial...
Based on what George and David went through putting 15" Bogarts on their cars, I have been looking for alternative drag tires for a 17" wheel (I didn't want to make all the changes needed for a 15" wheel). The best I had found was a 275/40-17 M/T tire. I had not found any taller drag tires to fit a 17"x9" wheel. Today, I stumbled across a 28" tall alternative. It is a 275/50-17 M&H Racemaster Drag Radial.
So if you want to stick to a 17x9 wheel, but prefer a 28" tall tire, here is an answer.

I tried to link the whole address, but no success. If you go to ebay, search under M/T ET and the one with the pic of the 2 tires on wheels is the one. You'll see 169stang as well.

Sorry to hijack Don
It's funny you mention M&H. Recently, an old school racer recommended those to me. I just haven't heard of them and don't know many that use them.
