Ford testing new rear ends?

It's not a new rear end it's a whole new platform. Kinda mis-titled this thread a little. Sounds like the 09/10 redesign could be a little bigger than everyone expected.

May be a genetic mutant in the works to meld the S197 with the Falcon to make the next gen of Mustang and the Interceptor.

Ya rear-wheel-drive prototypes was what I ment... I had just woken up to read the article and it caught my attention as interesting... guess I miss read the article... thought maybe we were gonna see some independent rear suspension action or somethin in the coming years!

The falcon is way too small to be the next crown vic. The vics are huge and that is helping carry the cimpany with the sales to police nationwide. they need a quick engine, don't care too much about milage and need the room for bigger cops and criminals as well as a huge trunk. Might be true for the stang though. They might want to make it smaller (like a fox) to lose some weight.
