Ford Racing Twin 62 Billet Throttle Body

I am considering to purchase this beautiful Ford Racing Twin 62 Billet Throttle Body.

I know I will get maybe 5HP with that on my 2005 N/A Engine but I love the look.
But my main question is - if that looks so beautiful like on that picture above in reality as well or rather not. It says its polished – is that clear coated against fading and scratching?

Can you guys place your pictures if you have installed that to see how it looks in reality and after some time.

It looks great 5HP gain seems so minimal for a $550.00 investment. Plus its going to require calibration. But again it looks sick! If you want HP then there are three letters for you...TVS.

Jed I am surprised you do not have one, your engine is already looking sick so that would fit you perfectly.
Anyway hopefully someone will place some pictures here soon to see how it looks in reality.
Is that coated some how to protect that polished surface?

I am not US so TVS not saying a lot to me – what you mean standard GT500 throttle?

Search is your friend The first thread is new installed, the second you can use to see how it wears. It isn't coated and starts to show some very very light swirling. I'll probably just take it off once a year to buff it out, I would prefer using a tumbler or something like that but I paid to much for this thing to start pulling off the electronics. Rather aggravating but looks were secondary to function for me!

I think by TVS he means the Roush TVS Blower.

Why would you need a tune adjustment? I have not followed the latest info on the TB's, just wondering

FORD Racing notes that the unit needs to be calibrated after installation. I visited Kenne Bell's web site and they mention the same thing if you use their 130MM throttle body on their Stage2 kit. I my case this maybe a better path since I have their blower. But the FRP 62MM TB looks like a good mod if you're upgrading from stock.

Forgive my ignorance but what is the size of the stock one that comes with the car? I remember a few years back, the BBK (first one out) claimed more HP, but dyno's said other things. The common logic ended with the new 3V engine did not rely as much on the bigger throttle body as did other 5.0 or 4.6. I have been out of the mod bit for almost a year and a half (I just avoided the forum as it gets me to spend money and I had other priorities so better not know huh).

That being said, but I am (on this forum) looking at a NSR cam upgrade. I have LT headers and CAI, so it would follow, if I am increasing the breathing with a cam, should I look at a new TB?

Does anyone have experience with this, using a cam, LT and a TB. Did the TB be worth the money? Is the LT headers and Cam the nudge you need to really make use of this new or any TB?

Save your money on the TB Traffic142. Unless you are running a high output supercharger the stock TB will easily be enough. I have seen stock 3V with stock TB running a Saleen supercharger put out over 500 rwhp on Brenspeeds dyno. Tom281 did it easily. Spend that $500 bucks on something that will do you some real good. And I believe the stock TB is twin 58mm.

Well I had a little more done but gained something like 5-7 with my BBK. The new one felt a lot better but I did no back to back comparison. The tune issue is for on devel, the rpm will surge. Rather annoying! If you look at my thread even though they both claim the 62mm size one is blatantly smaller. Once you factor in the price of the electronics on the new one if you bought new they cost the same. Stock size I'm wanting to say is around 55.

Only you can decide its "worth" but I'm going to lean towards most likely not from a pure performance standpoint. The thing about the FRPP TB is it flows around 3% less than the monoblade BUT has none of the drive ability issues that the monoblades are prone to.

Polish your stock one, I know I've seen someone do it and it looked pretty good.
