My thing is that I feel like I have too much traction and not enough cajones under the hood. Can't break it loose on the street for the life of me unless I dump at 3500 , of course, that's not really a bad thing I guess.

That's actually funny, because even with the traction control on I seem to be able to break the tires loose at will (coming off the line). In fact I was stopped at a light just this morning and knew I needed to get in front of the guy to my right (so I could change lanes) when the light turned green I jumped on the gas and as usual broke the tires loose. I still managed to get in front of the guy, but he must've thought I was nuts for accelerating so hard out of the hole.
I've been talking to a guy on another Mustang Forum board who ran a 14.6 at Bandimere the week before me in a similarly tuned 2006 Mustang GT 5-Speed. The only difference in drivetrain between our two vehicles is the fact he's running the stock 3.55 gears and 17 inch wheels and tires. Is it possible I'm getting less traction with the wider tires? Or can the added driveline inertia of the 'plus-sized' rims and tires cause that much of a decrease in performance? I almost wish I hadn't sold the rims and tires or I'd put them back on and run it again to see what happens.

Wow, I'm really surprised at those numbers. I just got the 4:10 gears, 93 tune and MRT cold air
installed on 28 April. I'll be running the 1/4 mile this Saturday May 6th. I had run a 2003 Stang GT
around 14.7 - 14.8 last year. I'll reply back Saturday afternoon with the results.
I have to believe that I'll be in 4th gear when I get to the finish because I'm going to have to
shift out of 1st sooner with 4:10s. You make me wonder if you're shifting like you're just easing
up the on-ramp. I suppose that's what they call granny-shiftin' and my first time out two years
ago I realized I was carefully shifting it like I was just doing normal easy driving. My times improved
alot when I started shifting quicker....and I still think I should be able to do better.
Tell me you DID NOT slam the stick hard and fast???

I have a short throw shifter so I was banging thru the gears very quickly. I shifted at 6,000 rpm each and every time and was literally about 30 feet from the end of the strip when I was ready to shift into 4th gear. At that point I said why bother and just kept my foot in her. Now bear I mind I too have the 4.10 gears so I would expect you to be at about the same place (presuming you're not granny shifting her at a lower RPM).

Just took a trip to the track, Here's what I ran with the stock pirellis:
60' 2.277
330 6.263
1/8 9.523
mph 75.81
1000 12.325
1/4 143697
mph 95.24
I chirped launching around 2500 rpms each time. A couple times I launched at 3k and stood around spinning my wheels for about a second before going anywhere.
