Finally Modifying.. Vortech V3 and Detroit Rocker Combo
Finally Modifying.. Vortech V3 and Detroit Rocker Combo
Finally, after 3.5 years of joyful ownership of my stock 2008 Mustang GT, I’m planning for a number of modifications as follows:
· Performance:
o Vortech V3 (standard, non-cooled) by Brenspeed, (complete package including: 39lb injectors, spark plugs, Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump, IAT relocation kit, SCT tuner with tune, 8psi)
o Detroit Rocker cams by Brenspeed, supercharged version
o Ford Racing Gear ratio 3.73 (I currently have the 3.31 from factory with the 5-speed manual transmission)
o Fluidyne radiator
o Meziere electric water pump
· Suspension:
o Ford Racing shocks / struts kit
o Ford Racing lowering springs, 1.5” all around
o BMR adjustable panhard rod
o BMR camber bolts 2 degree
I’m planning for the parts purchase through the year but installation of all parts will go in the car at once (hopefully in 2012). I’m interested to get feedback of Mustang owners with the same combo (Vortech V3 + Detroit Rocker) in terms of:
All in all, I’m looking for a reliable car with good power.
Opinions are welcome

- Power results (hp + tq)
- ¼ mile results (ET + trap speed)
- Drivability and low down drivability
- Possible lag due to centrifugal supercharger? at what RPM do you see full boost?
- Overheating experience with this setup (we have a hot weather here but I’m not getting the intercooled supercharger (HO version) but it’s 10psi version)
All in all, I’m looking for a reliable car with good power.

Not a single reply
Anyway, the plan has changed. I'll be getting the Paxton Novi 2200 SL HO kit. No cooling parts. No cams.
I'm looking for a decent 450rwhp with a reasonable toque on the stock engine

why the change in plans ? The novi is a nice kit also but I always did the like the vortech. you still going to atleast do the gear change also.
Thanks. Good numbers you have
. Is this with the 10psi basic pulley with the Novi 2200 HO kit? any other bolt-on parts?
Thanks
Well, the change is due to provision of future storker plans. The Paxton Novi 2200 will push more power than the Vortech V3. I also like the Vortech as well but need to consider future.
Gears will be changed for sure, I'm planning for the 3.73 as good compromise between power usage and street drivability.
The plan also includes 2010 GT500 wheels and Nitto NT05 tires
Thanks

Not yet. I had to upgrade my suspension and wheels first as I had almost worn suspension and 2 bad wheels
Suspension: Koni shocks/struts, FRPP K springs, FRPP GT500 strut mounts, FRPP jounce kit, FRPP GT500 A-arms, FRPP lower A-arm brace, BMR LCA and relocation brackets, BMR swaybars, BMR adjustable panhard bar and brace, Steeda adjustable UCA, Steeda ball join, Steeda bumpsteer, Steeda strut bar.

Wheels: FRPP 2010 GT500 wheels, 18"X9.5"

I need to install these parts now and drive the car for a while. I'm still planning for the supercharger and saving again for it now. It's going to be next year though for purchase and installation. International shipping is killing as well
I'll keep this forum updated on progress.
