Correction factor to account for air temperature, density so that the test data is corrected to what is called a standard day. There is an emperical formula for doing this. Applying a correction you are then able to make meaningful comparisons between different vehicles and set ups from even different locations, or the same vehicle tested in different locations (i.e. Houston, Denver, LA, etc.).

Corrected for what?
With SAE smoothing on "0" the engine spikes (or peaks) as you can see in his graph become real choppy. During the spikes, the difference between the highest and lowest point is farther apart than when it's not smoothed out. If you move the SAE smoothing to 5, it will average those spikes and make the difference smaller so it's a more even line. The result is a more accurate picture of the horespower.

Here's an example of my "stock" base runs (manual trans). Notice how the lines are smoother and there is less spiking:

1st, I have not seen that many stock mustangs puting down 275hp and 290tq.

2nd, you are running the 87 octane tune ( which is "retarted" as you put it) so the gains are not going to be astronomical!

Have a beer a chill dude, install the 91 or 93 octane tune and have it re-dynod at a different dyno.
1st, check out my my little stock torque monster:
Attachment 20154
2nd, that's 87 octane dead stock SAE corrected 0 smoothing

If you have the original Dynojet WinPEP 7 run file, it just needs to be loaded into the WinPEP 7 Program and the correction and smoothing can be changed properly.

just have him e-mail you the dyno run file, and then download WinPep software from DynoJet's website. You can adjust the smoothing & correction factors there.

I'll bet though, even after that, you won't lose more than 3 hp. Your run being "uncorrected" isn't as bad as being "STD". I've been playing with my dyno runs on my WinPep software and there's only a 1.5 hp difference between "SAE" & "Uncorrected", and another 1.5 or so hp difference if I turned my smoothing down from "5" to "0". Now if I set it on "STD", it bumps me up about 5-6 hp alone right there.

Guys, touring's #'s aren't all that crazy. My best friend put down pretty much identical #'s (actually slightly higher tq) with the same mods & Brenspeed tune on a dyno @ SAE w/ smoothing @ 5.

THIS JUST SHOWS WHY WE DON'T RACE DYNOS

It also depends on the temp.
I ran on a cold day, with the garage cold (52F on the Dyno with even colder air coming in).
Cold air is great for making HP, but the SAE correction takes that into account also.
283HP SAE corrected was 298HP Uncorrected because of true cold air.
I actually was making 298HP, but if it was warmer in the garage I couldn't have done it.
Setting it to STD put it at 292HP.
