FI vs Warranty
FI vs Warranty
How do you guys do it? My warranty is whats stopping from going FI. I only have 14k on my 07. It is paid off. I want do it this summer(kid in me), but the adult in me says.... wait a year or two
If you cannot afford to write a check for a new motor when and if you blow yours its best to not do it. Short block, blower, fuel pump, spark plugs, labor, tune etc can easily eat up twelve thousand. Then if you want to run it at the strip there is a fire jacket, helmet, rear tires to hook and driveshaft loops you must have. I have over the cost of a Shelby in my 05GT with a turbo.
Possibly losing warrenty coverage is the price you pay if you want to play.
A good blower kit, solid install, and a safe conservative tune by an EXPERIENCED tuner will get you trouble-free performance 99% of the time as long as you have a decent amount of common sense.
Just do it, you know you want to.......

Yep, I agree with Tom. Get a safe conservative tune and you will be fine... If you really wanna be safe just get a saleen or roush kit and have a dealer install it and maintain the warranty. Even if you didn't have a dealer install it and voided the warranty you could just get one of the base kits ( saleen or roush) use there tunes which make about 420hp and be super safe...
