Fan Problem

Ok guys, we installed a switch so that I can run the fan while at the track manually. Here's the problem, now the low speed and high speed fans won't turn on when the program tells them to. So, we then cut the line for the manual switch and they still won't work. ANy ideas? We checked all fuses and all relays and they are fine. I am REALLY stumped on this one...

I would get a volt meter and check to see if you are getting power to the fans. The switch should just be a manual way of turning on the fans at the flip of the switch and shouldn't have anything to do with the normal operation. Unless the switch needs to be grounded and it's not.

That's what we're trying to figure out. The switch works perfectly but the fans via the PCM/tune are not turning on when they should. They tapped in to the line only. We cut the switch to see if it is being effected in some way and the fans still are not turning on.

Wow thats a problem. I wonder if it could be related to the fog light problem? Sounds like an electrical gremlin to me. Could be somthing as simple as a ground strap not connected after the engine was put back in???

This may a dumb question but are you sure your fan was working properly before you made the change??

Yes it was working properly. Car never had any type of cooling problems. I have aftermarket, read Autometer Cobalt, gauges that would have let me know.
