Engine Oil

Hope someone can help. I just got my first oil change and I know nothing about cars. I read the forum and it was suggested that a synthetic oil used. Well I got my first oil change at 3300 miles and told the guy at the shop to use synthetic. When I got home I saw they used 10w30 synthetic oil. Will this hurt my car? Should I take it back to Pepboys? Help!

Shouldnt hurt the car. But I would go female dog at them and ask them if they can read. Its plain as day on the cap 5w-20.
I would get my money back too, and keep a copy of that reciept.
And Never, EVER take that baby to pep boys, or any car for that matter.

definitely insist that they change it to the proper oil.
Make sure you talk to the manager and get your money back. The last thing you want is a grenaded motor because of wrong oil.

Well I went "female dog on the guy" and he said that he put 10w30 in because we are in South Florida and that is the type of oil needed for our weather. He agreed to put the correct oil in at no charge. I would have complained to the manager buth he is the Manager. I am heading there first thing in the morning to get him to change it out.

That explanation is a flat out lie, I wouldn't even bother taking it there unless I watched them put the correct oil in it.
