Endlinks comeing loose again v. use locktite?

My endlinks sound like they are loose again just from daily driving. I'm going to tighten them in the morning but was wondering if anyone used locktite for them?

The stock ones ahve the second bolt that keeps it from coming apart completely and could pose a problem if you have to undo the bolt one day the small one may strip or round off trying to get the larger nut off.??

I was considering aftermarket GMS or Steeda endlinnks and then puting locktite on them since they are composed of single nuts on each end making locktite no so troublesome.

I hate having to tighten these every few months, and since i never change the sway bar settings... it seems logical to locktite it.

thanks
jake

If you do use the locktite use the blue.

Did you use new locknuts when you installed? I don't have the part number handy, but your dealer can sell them to you (search the forum--I think the part number has been listed before). The ones from the factory are designed for one time use, which is why so many of us have had loosening problems.

Are you torquing them to factory spec?
I have the Steeda Competition Endlinks and there is absolutely no noise from them.
Yes they male a street version also. I would have suggested them if there was any noise coming from mine. The rod ends are easily replaceable on the competition ones.

I didn't replace them so i could investigate getting a new set from the dealer. I didn't know they were one time use. As I never really change of mess with suspension it would make sense to either get new locknuts or get new ones and locktite them anyway.

I think the only thing i would or might change is the settings on the dampers... i love the way the car handles on the middle setting on the sway bar so that wont change again.

thanks.

getting new locknuts and getting out the locktite....

I hear ya. I don't think any of us expected reusing them to be a problem, but it has turned into a common issue for all of us who installed new struts.

FWIW, I finally got mine to stay tight by hitting them with an impact wrench. It's been a few months without a problem. If they come loose, though, I'll be picking up a few sets of the locknuts from the dealer.

done... tightened as hard as I could get them with blue locktite...

The right one (passenger side) was loose on top and bottom. I dont suspect they will come loose again.

How much torque did you use? Torque it to the factory spec.

if they come loose a first time, any chance movement caused a 'ridge' around the hole from the bolt wallowing it out a little? wonder if hitting it with a flat file(and some paint) might help prevent recurring?
