Red face

I've posted in several threads, with no luck! But if anyone knows what I'm talking about, Eibach came out with this front alignment kit (to adjust negative camber). The kit could be found for about $30-$35...

Now, to my question: what's steeda doing at $190 with this?

[attachmentid=40029]

And what is Eibach doing at $35 with this?

[attachmentid=40030]

I'm about to install Eibach springs, and I'd like to know if my next purchase could be of $35 instead of $190!!

Please, SOMEONE drop in and help, I'm sure people will appreciate the $160 savings if the kits do the same.

Thanks!

I ordered this set of the Eibach camber bolts from Sean Hyland Motorsports last week--they aren't here yet, but I will take pics and post results.

From what I've read, these (or any other camber bolt kit, such as the SPC bolts) should be enough to correct camber issues with drops up to about 2". Not sure why Steeda's kit is so expensive.

You could also get these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SPC-Eibach-...1QQcmdZViewItem

I think some other members here have used them with success. Same concept as the Eibachs.

Basically the Steeda kit and all of the other kits are doing the same thing in terms of being able to adjust the camber to correct for lowering. The reason the Steeda costs so much more is its design. Since it uses hardened inserts for adjustment, there is no chance of a pothole or something of that nature "knocking" your camber adjustment out of spec. With the other kits, there is more of a possibility of the eccentric bolt turning when you encounter a really big bump. Unless you have really bad roads though or you are a pothole magnet, the eccentric bolt syle is fine, and that is what most vehicles use to adjust camber from the factory.

Uh, that's weird--they are no longer on SHM's website. You could try calling them direct and ordering. They are Eibach part number 5.81260. They were $27.99 for the pair plus $10 shipping. Wonder if there is more profit in it for them with the Steedas.

They actually arrived today, drop-shipped from Eibach in California. They look *exactly* like the SPC bolts, so if I were to do it over again, I would save the money and get the SPC bolts off Ebay (probably quicker shipping, too).

I'll post an update when I install (maybe this weekend if time allows...).

P.S. Also got the CHE bolt-on lower control arm brackets and their aluminum panhard adjustable panhard rod. Very nice pieces!

If I am getting my springs installed at a Ford dealer, will they already have camber adjustment bolts in stock?

I mean, I guess it would be smart to just call the dealer, but I am lazy.

Anybody know?

Slaya,

Can you post pics of the Eibach bolts installed in the car? I got them yesterday in the mail along with my eibach pro- springs, so hopefully the car will be dropped next weekend.

I believe the steeda have more adjustablity and it also does caster. wherer the camber bolts from eibach only do camber to a lesser degree. the steeda are to be used with their x2 balljoint and bumpsteer kit for more intense handling. So all in all the bolts are made to get the alignment back into factory spec. vs. the steeda is part of a "handle on rails" suspension.

The adjustability is the same (-1.75 on the bolts), and it was my understanding that the 05 had pretty much the caster taken care and the camber was the only things creating issues whenever you did work with the suspension....
"handle on rails" suspension... I like that!

Hoepfully this will answer a few questions at once. The Steeda bolts do not adjust caster. Caster cannot be adjusted from that point. Secondly, Ford probably won't have the kit in stock, it will most likely need to be ordered. The complete Ford kit comes with caster and camber bolts, but caster should not be an issue. Caster is accompished at the rear of the lower control arm by the way.

I definitely will when I have a chance to do the drop. (Time is tight lately...)

Check SPC's website www.spcperformance.com for a local retailer or call them 1-800-525-6505. Give them your ZIP and they'll tell you where to buy them locally.

BTW, I'm sure they're identical to Eibach's...even have the same part number: 81260

I have them on mine and I'm now running about -.50 instead of the -1.75 it was at before. Make sure they're installed with the large tab towards the wheel...

I showed this to my alignment guy before I knew any better and he said that part pictured is for a Honda...not a Mustang! They have a disclaimer stating that the actual part may differ from what is pictured. It sure does!

They sure do... look at post #8, that's how they look!

I was supposed to drop the car this weekend, but it rained, and I don't have a garage, so the only thing I could do was to add BMR's Panhard and Support... At least I'm getting ready for the drop

I hate to tell you guys this, but Summit Racing has the same exact camber bolt kits for only $ 8.95. Part # IEC-35420. They are made by Ingalls Engineering Co.

I happened to run across them a few weeks ago, and now that I've got lowering springs on the way I'm gonna try them out.

Hey Matt, post some pics of the install! Where the bolts go and everything...
Great find! If I would've known, I would've saved $20! But then again, saving almost $200 compared to Steed, I'm happy with the buy....
In any case, post the pics!

Thanks

Summit Racing:
8.95 + 8.95 shipping = 17.90 * 1.20 exchange = $21.48 CDN
Pretty good price!
I picked mine up locally and paid about $32 for them but I think I've already saved $10 in tread wear by now...
