E-force question

When I ordered my Edelbrock SC , they recommanded to change the driveshaft into a 1piece one.
Because I'have some issues installing it (have to wait for some parts) I wonder if its's save to drive with the Eforce using the stock shaft ?

Thanks

Peter

I've never heard of a stock driveshaft failing at the power levels the Eforce puts out.

Not sure who told you that, but it is definitely not needed. What pulley/power level are you planning?

It' s because I'm doing several trackdays a year, the guy I'm ordering my parts told me it would be safer to go for a 1-piece alu driveshaft cause when the shaft brakes on high speed, the damage can be awfull.
I don't have the intention to cross the 500 hp line

Things I did till now :
Baer extreme plus 14" brake kit
Steeda rear swaybar
Steeda Billet LCA's
Koni adjustable shocks
Roush springs
Flowmaster cat backs
E-force supercharger
19" wheels
Steeda alu 1-piece driveshaft
cervini ram air type IV hood with functinal ram air kit : coming up next week
hurst copetition shortshifter : coming up next week
Spec stage3 clutch and alu flywheel and SS lines : coming up in 2 weeks

E-force

I've had mine for almost 18 months, and no problems yet. I have made several trips down the 1/4 mile!

I've heard the stock driveshaft can handle up to 450HP or something like that. but getting a driveshaft safety loop and mounting it in the right spot will prevent the back half from dropping down if it goes and preventing a lot od damage (some people think it will even end up pole-vaulting the car). The front half would just drag harmlessly on the ground

Thanks guys, The Steeda alu driveshaft is Ok.
Yesterday I did a trackday and the car did a great job; BMW M3, even a Ferrari F430 had to give up on me. Now the other problem is overheating but I opened another topic about that

anyone know of any issues with the stock internals coupled with an e-force? i've been thinking of adding the 5 psi SC to my '05 GT, but i have some concerns as the internals are the weak point. the car has 85K miles, mostly highway and it runs perfect. i wouldn't be looking to go over 450-500 rwhp on the car, but i'd like to make sure that it won't break with 450 thrown at it.

thanks,
jerry

450 RWHP is right at the upper threshold from what I've seen over the last couple of years. Anything more is a crapshoot as to whether it'll scatter its guts at any given time, especially with one approaching 100K miles. I don't think I'd go past 400 with that many miles, unless you have the budget on hand to rebuild it if it lets go. That's just my opinion though.

i have thought about making a multi-year approach and slowly building up the bottom end and having the motor built before adding a supercharger. i hear the b302 stroker kit from brenspeed works wonders in cars.

I've been running north of 470 at the wheels for almost three years now.. granted I only have 30k miles on her, but I think it's more in the tune and how you drive 'em then the actual whp number.

You could always start with the base kit as the Edelbrock tune is very conservative with ~400RWHP/400RWTQ using the 3.8 inch pulley. Then once you have the upgraded motor, up the boost. But that will also require fuel system upgrades along with a dyno tune.

I have the eforce on mine and 39k with the 3.0 pulley. Blew motor out all sides on the dyno Went mmr stroker and stage one cams. Right now 562 rwhp on a safe tune till break in down. It's awesome.
