Went to the Dyno Shop in Santee yesterday for a dyno day with some fellow stangers. I took a lot of pics and vids for everyone to enjoy, I only snapped the stangs although there were a lot of really nice cars there that werent stangs.

Pics.....

Vids....
http://surfnsocal.com/vid/Dyno%20Day%2011-19-05/

My Car.....
STD Max Power=297.1rwhp Max Torque=306.2rwft-lbs
SAE Max Power=289.7rwhp Max Torque=298.5rwft-lbs

as you can see from one of the charts my car is running really rich so I definiately need a tune, should be able to squeze another 10hp or so out of it doing that.

My Vid.......

all I can say to everyone else-

BOO YA.

0-5rwhp my hiney. I knew these headers would do better than that. 15rwhp without a tune is kick hiney. For $300....I'm sold.

I didn't see the "before" dyno chart... where is it?

Or are you guys actually trying to compare the results of one car to the results of another? I trust you aren't that silly...

I am referring to possibly trying to use one car for a "baseline" number (274 hp), and a different car (his) to try to show a 15hp gain (289hp). That's bad science, period. Without a baseline run on his car and a second run with headers as the only change, no conclusion can be made on how much they gained.

And it is interesting to note that the numbers quoted below perfectly illustrate why dyno numbers should not be used as an "absolute" measurement. It says right there that the same car on three runs ranged from 253.5 - 274.0 ... a variance of nearly 7.5%. Without repeatability, what have you really got? Not much IMO.

Post the one that shows how you got 15hp with just the shorties.

Even though I had to wait around for 4 hours to get dynoed, it was worth it.

I don't have a picture of my chart yet, but I made 287hp and 303tq. Not bad with just a JLT intake and 91 tune.

Pictures can be found here.

Quick question for you guys with the shorty headers and muffler deletes......how did adding the shorties change the exhaust tone?? for the better or worse? louder? throatier? meaner? I've currently got the muffler delete and was looking into shorties to get some more power and keep warranty.

Good numbers rrobello!!!!!!!!!

289.7rwhp & 298.5 rwtq with only headers, muffler deletes and a K&N intake w/o tune

That has got to be the highest numbers I have seen on a modded 05 that hasen't been tuned yet!!!!!!!!!!

Get rid of the K&N and install the JLT w/tune and garuntee you will be over the 300 mark!

Anyways, good on ya

they guy that tunes at the dyno shop said he has tuned an 05 with my setup K&N, JBA and axlebacks (he didnt look under my car to see that there was nothing), and he got 20 more rwhp with the tune and that he could do at least the same with mine that the tune is a huge help, so K&N or not I think it would be the same. and I dont intend to keep switching air intakes since I will be getting a whipple as soon as they come out, thats why my mods have been slow as of late, I dont want to keep changing things once I get the SC.
