Driveshaft or LT Headers

Hey. I'm thinking of getting either the Spydershaft or BBK LT headers w/ catted x pipe. Which do you think will be the better mod.

Thanks.

All depends on what you want? A driveshaft will shave some time off a run in the 1/4. but won't make the car sound any different. L/Ts will give you added power and make the car sound SICK!! To tell you, L/T headers get somewhat of a mixed rap here. Some say they aren't worth the money for how little hp you get, some (like myself) say their worth every penny. I got AR Longtubes with their catted H. With a custom dyno tune from CR at Tillman and an Airaid CAI, I gained 50 flywheel hp (I have 302 rwhp now and the car is SICK). Plus the sound is just incredible when combined with a good set of mufflers. For the money, I would pick the headers.

how much do you have to spend? if it is $1000 or more just get obx long tubes, and a spydershaft and do both. otherwise one or the other i would do the longtubes, although the driveshaft was a big improvement.

both are good choices, you definately should get a one pc driveshaft at some point, but if you want sound, like I do, go for the long tubes

My budget is around 900 -1000. I want to get some LTs such as the OBX but afraid of how loud it will be. I don't want to bother my neighbors too much. The driveshaft is also cheaper and there is a group buy going on.

How much is the group buy? If it's cheap enough it might be worth it to jump on the bandwagon while it's hot. Otherwise I'd go with longtubes first.

you can go the bbk way and get some ok axlebacks like the flows or macs and have the entire system done for about 1100

well worth the money in my opinion

The thing with LTs is I don't think I can do the install myself, which adds to the price of them. I'm also debating whether to do the DS install myself too, but I know a DS install is a lot cheaper than LTs.

if your budget is $1000 then you can do both. you can get the obx headers on ebay for less than $500 to your door. it will be louder, but if you have mufflers it is not rediculous or anything. you wont scare the neighbors unless you go wide open when you leave for work. and if the spydershaft is going to be $525 then you are all set! BOTH FTW!!!

I just finished installing my JBA longtubes myself.

I only used jackstands on my garage floor. Just took my time over a couple of weekends. If you really had to, you could crank it out in a weekend.

I have no mechanical experience prior to this. I also swapped out the motor mounts. Only time that I needed help was holding the headers in place to get the bolts started.

And everyone is right.... the sound is incredible.

If your going to spend money on the headers go with ceramic LTs. I went with BBK Ceramic LTs and catted X and love it!

LTs FTW

How much do you think it would cost to put some cats in with the MAC LT and prochamber. I don't think they make a catted setup like that.
