I'll be running 12s this year and I need loops. The cheapest ones I found are the Ford Racing ones for about $100.

[attachmentid=41684]

The loops unbolt from the braces so you don't have to take the driveshaft apart, which is good. The bad thing is you have to drill holes and remove the seats and carpets from the car so you can put the nuts on the mounting bolts. This isn't a big deal to me though. Might be a good idea to spray em with Rustoleum to keep em from rusting.

Anybody install these on their car? Got any pics of them in place? Thanks.

I'm curious about these as well. Also, are there other brands that do not require seat/carpet removal?

Check out BMR's, they bolt on to existing stud's (no need for drilling/seat removal) and are already powder coated and ready to go... Installation took me about 15 minutes. They are very heavy duty and well made. The loop is also separate so you wouldn't need to remove your driveshaft either. You also get a tunnel brace and extra support/frame stiffening.

BMR isn't bad if you want to spend $240 for a front and back brace.

What does the IHRA require? They require 1 or 2 braces? Anybody know?

Yeah, not having to hack up the interior and spending a half a day to install them will be well worth the extra cash... BMR makes awesome stuff.

The rules say 2 piece driveshaft 2 loops.

I bought the Metco loops from Justins Performance Center For $119.95 The price has gone up to $189.95. They are cheaper and much better than the BMR ones. If you order the Metco's make sure you tell them whether you have a stock or aftermarket mid pipe as they have designs for each exhaust.
George is right once again

Yes. Designed to stop your drive shaft from poll vaulting your car if the front connection fails.

Running 12s? You must be planning to do a whole lot of mods to that Stang and take driving lessons from George!! Oh I forgot he has an auto. Guess you will just have to go to someone elses driving school. Mine is an auto so its fool proof for a guy like me.

That would NOT be fun! So once you get down into the 12's thats when a loop becomes a good idea?

13.99 and quicker, loops are required, if Im not mistaken.

Some companies look to make thier millions with loops...lol, I can believe the price ranges. Sure craftmanship comes into play, but not that much

ford Racing it is...

Anyone see the Mythbuster episode where they tried to flip a car by breaking the driveshaft? The driveshaft crumbled and shot thru the trunk.

They must see this thread and see there might be interest, so they jacked the price up.
